Frani Keeley — Painting, Embroidery

Does the world need more stuff? Who should art belong to? Why should I make more paintings?

Art belongs to everyone. I need to paint to be happy.

My paintings fit into a sandwich bag. They require as much intellectual effort as a much larger work, use very little material, don't take up much space, and fit into nearly every budget.

Some years ago I started painting trees. Trees come in a vast array of sizes, shapes, colors, and textures. They are noble, inspirational, and too often taken for granted. I love trees and enjoy painting them.

I do embroidery when painting isn't possible. Embroidery is painting with thread.
