Chrissy Ann Ceramics — Chrissy Feiteira — Clay
|
|
I have been working with clay for nearly all my life. As a child, I would take "clay" pressings off of my parent's wicker furniture around the house, until I was no longer allowed to use playdoh. As a result, I went to college to study, and play with all the clay I'd like, and received my BA from Rhode Island College in 2002. Since then, I have been taking workshops with several established clay artists, Tim Scull, Alice Munn, Susan Raber Bray to name a few, exploring new techniques in making, and firing wares. I have been working in my studio in New Bedford since moving back from Providence in 2002. My work varies from installation pieces, to garden sculptures, to utilitarian wares. All having the same influence from the growth process, and groupings of budding plants and flowers. I love nothing more than getting lost in my parents gardens, just watching and sketching my finds. My studio is open by appointment or by chance meeting. I am offering classes at the studio this fall, and winter . . . please contact me for more information! I can be reached at chrissyannceramics@yahoo.com, or 508-525-5954. |
